Young, Gifted & White: The Silver The Hedgehog Story

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away you won't find this particular character - mainly because he comes from the 'distant' future where things are none to jolly indeed. The realm of the future is a desolate place, ravaged by wars with the dreaded Iblis and coated in fire; not rings of it mind you - that'd burn, burn, burn that ring of fire.

It's at this point I have to make a little historical note, you might not know this but Silver the Hedgehog was originally going to be a mink, which would have been useful as he could have been turned into a nice fur coat and draped over the face of some pointless supermodel with a huge ego and nonexistent waistline, thus killing two turds with one stone.

Basically Silver met Sonic, after being duped by that most obviously trustworthy of evil-looking, mythical crystal things Mephilies. Forgetting what his dear old mum used to tell him in between the bouts of yelling at the hat stand, namely "never trust anything that doesn't have a mouth". Silver was led to believe Sonic was the 'Iblis Trigger' which, to a layman meant Sonic 'triggered the Iblis'... okay I guess that was a little obvious. So off he duly trotted to the past (as you do) to do away with Sonic except he was foiled by several things, most of them being Shadow and Amy Rose; Sonic meanwhile just got his quills handed to him.

Eventually he found out the truth of course, after accusing just about everyone else of being the cause. However the result meant the sacrifice of his best friend and emotional stabiliser, Blaze the Cat. He and Blaze grew up together and Silver was at one time her only friend. Awwwww. Yup, you see Silver is a psychokinetic which means he's able to use the powers of his mind - yes the one and the same mind that got duped by Mephilies - to move and control the world around him. Not to mention presumably give Ryu and Ken Masters a run for their money.

Think an immature albino jedi with spiky hair and yellow contact lenses and you'll be about there.

Of course then Silver found out he could become Super Silver and along with fellow supers Sonic and Shadow they smote Solaris, the combined Iblis and Mephilies. The end result not only saving the day but also erasing the entire event from the course of history; making everything that happened in SONIC The Hedgehog including meeting Sonic et all - and rendering everything I've so far written - null and void.

So where are we now? Well, thanks to that handy 'time travel is easy if you think about it' game rule of thumb Silver met up once again for the first time with Sonic and co in Sonic Rivals. Where upon they got along like a house on fire; no literally a house on fire. Your house - they didn't like each other at all that much. In the end they became friends and he popped off back to the future with a cheery wave, friendly smile and an assortment of people who had been turned into playing cards. It's amazing what you'll find in those souvenir shops nowadays. In the Sonic Wrecks universe Silver is right where he should be, namely smack bang in the future with Blaze and Eggman Nega and a whole host of other problems.

I mean, how's he going to save the world when he can't play basketball? White hog can't jump don't'cha know...
