The Sonic X series was in some ways a lot better than the television series of the same name, and in some ways were identical - it was discovered that a particular artist had in fact traced key screenshots of the series in earlier issues resulting in Sonic having three arms... or being really excited. One of the two. It outlasted it parent series before finally ending in early 2009 after forty issues. The series expanded a lot on the bad guys and even toyed with Dr. Eggman becoming enraptured with maid Ella and obsessed with a wrestling alter-ego that leads him to even give up his world-domiantion plans for a time to become El Gran Gordo - an insanely popular luchador. The series was ultimately replaced by Sonic Universe and the last issue was part of a a three publication crossover Story with Unvierse and the main Sonic comic series.
