SCD, Birthdays, Topsites, SS:TV, SEGA, Updates & More... |
Right, lots of things to talk about - starting from the top Sonic Cage Dome have been having problems with their SQL database after a system outage with their hosts. This is of course also hampering The Sonic Show. Their site is now up again but it'll be a few days before everything is recovered as they are working off a backup. It's Echo Hawk's birthday today, she is 74 , she challenged me a while back to draw HER something for a change and so I took up the challenge as can be seen here. As I prove conclusively I draw as well as I sing, although for my first attempt on the first time I've ever drawn a Sonic character as well as the first time I've drawn in ages it's not bad. Please don't start sending me birthday dates, its a one off for perhaps our most senior fan. (Was done using a normal HB pencil... as someone is bound to ask.) There is a new Sonic topsites out which kindly emailed me asking if SW wasnt to be a part of it. I had to decline, but if you fancy it they are very polite and they can be found at sonic-sites.com.It wasn't advertised on TSS, but after a year plus of waiting SS:TV episode five was launched to the sound of silence. In all honesty it's not a patch on The Sonic Show and SS:TV frankly need to step it up. Check out Fastfeet Media if you want to see it though, but download the lower quality episode. At 300Mb+ its not worth downloading the high version. There has been a GLUT of updates to Sonic Wrecks, the Shadow Depository has had a lot of this with some heavy hitting media files added. You can now find a slew of new comic scans available including full scans of Fleetway's STC issue 79 and the complete first three issues of Archie's STH. Several other fleetway stories have been added to the depository too. The miscellaneous section has expanded yet again and you can now find two screensavers from Shadow The Hedgehog. More Shadow love can be found in the images section, where a brand new scan (done by myself) of a promotional advert for ShTH as well as a promotional art piece and a high quality version of the Gerald/Maria photo can now be found. The cast section has also had another addition, this time our subject is the lovely Miss Rose who recieves a somewhat long synopisis. The Sonic & Shadow site awards first round is finishing today, the first round dictates who will be the final five nominations (where there are greater than five nominations originally made). Of the two first round votes SW is in, we seem to be safely through to the actual voting. I will let you know when this takes place. In other brief news; the ArchangelUK/Sonic Wrecks mySpace profile has had a bit of a facelift with a greyscale theme similar to that used on the recent SW wallpapers. Also Project E-on was delayed following the day activity counter being reset after 21 days. It is currently on seven days and once again is counting upwards... Finally, monsterous news: ArchangelUK is now an unofficial content writer for SEGA Online. Basically with SatSR coming up, everyone is very busy so after a cry for help from SEGA Europe (plus the promise of lots of SEGA goodies in return) my good self, along with my bad self and to a lesser extent my ambivilant self are/is taking my Air Shoe Diaries column to the SEGA Blognik. You may very well see my first effort up soon, as well as new content from T-Bird and possibly Dreadknux (uni coursework permitting). This is all... THE POWER OF SONIC COMPELLS YOU! |

#039: Chao For Now |
Right, surprise - the new comic is up. Not only that but those new downloads in the Shadow Depository - including the SatSR videos - have also finished, so enjoy those and the new images section with it's high quality pack art. An addition as well to the downloads previously announced is another press release, this time a 09/09/06 announcement from SEGA America/Europe on SONIC The Hedgehog. OH and I almost forgot! The comic notes for #037 through #039 have also been added.
You may have also noticed the poll is now working after three weeks, this is mainly due to someone actually listening to what I was saying - and guess what? I was right... it was a permissions problem. (If you don't know the poll is actually a mirror image of the one that has been on The Sonic Show's website for the last fortnight.)
Have a great weekend if I don't slap up some more stuff between now and then, remember kids Sonic Wrecks is the most updating Sonic site around atm! |

Wrecks Factor Post-Results, Updates On The Way & More... |
They're not up yet you understand, my poor old 56k can only do so much, but there will be for Thursday evening or Friday at the latest a great new update on the Shadow Depository which will allow you to download some new videos from Sonic Adventure 1, Sonic Adventure 2, CD, Chaos, Heroes and SatSR! **Please note, the current SA1 advert video will not currently work while this is being uploaded.**
The image section will also finally be opened up and there's going to be some high quality packshots available from the get go of Sonic Rush and six international examples of the SatSR pack artwork. You'll be able to tell when everything is up and online because the Images link will be active on the navigation bar.
Additionally I've added three more press releases which should be available from now relating to both Riders and SatSR... but before I go I should point out that a certain trio of losing competitors have yet to send me a prize for winning the Wrecks Factor. Not only that but a certain Sonic webmaster who shall be Dreadknux-less, I mean nameless, has yet to do his forfeit. DUN DUN DUNNNN! So I advise you to write to him (and the others if you like about the prize) and give him a bit of stick that he's shirking his wooden spoon duties. I ordered him to sing the DK Rap damn it, and sing it he will!
In other news thewebcomicslist.com's bots are now taking notice of our site again, which means we're no longer 52XXth but back in the 900's. Anyway I'm off; I'll be starting the next comic tomorrow after my usual 'try and find myself a career' bits in the morning. Later. |

More Updates... |
Ah some more update stuff for you, thus my most-updatingest site around title still belongs to me. As promised yesterday the Gamma wallpaper is up in the Shadow Depository and as an extra I've also finished off uploading the rest of the sheet music for Sonic The Hedgehog. There's also been an blog update on the Barbed Wire Halo, I'm in a bit of a frustrated state atm with one thing and another so apologies for the general tone. |

Holy-Something Batman! New Sonic Wrecks Wallpapers Online! |
Seems like just when I finally get everything online SEGA throw me a curveball, as there is a new Sonic Channel wallpaper of Gamma up. Expect that up tomorrow, as I can't sort that just now... what I CAN sort out for you though is some brand new Sonic Wrecks wallpaper!
Yes, I know you were all gagging for some new stuff and you've got two - or rather two sides of the same wallpaper. It'll all become clear as SW prepares to return to the comic storyline, hope you like the new stylings on the background graphics. |

Swimming The Sonic Channel |
Seems people likes the new RR, and you should frankly! As a weekend update ALL the remaining Sonic Channel wallpapers are now online in the Shadow Depository with more stuff underway. We should see one comic at least next week - plus the mysterious Project E-On gathers momentum as the number of days slowly increases, interest and ire at SW HQ grows. Will it be used tho? Hmm... |

Note-worthy News! |
Some quick housekeeping - you can now vote for SW in the first round nomination stage for a couple of awards in the Sonic & Shadow Site Awards here. Also, the Shadow Depository now contains Sonic sheet music! You can find it through the dreaded misc. section. SW was down for several hours earlier today, dunno why and no the vzpoll hasn't been fixed yet. What has been sorted though is a series of CSS edits behind the scenes at SW which has led to a bit of a re-jig of the front page here with the Forthcoming Projects section mentioned previously added and the Radio Redux subscription pod. Surely the best addition though is the reworking of the index/splash page - you loved it before, how about now? AJAX~! |

Gooooooooo.... Rogues!!! |
Right, annoyingly the upcoming Radio Redux show has needed a lot of work done on it as by the sound of things T-Bird had me rather loudly on his speakers. It's also missing a chunk so I'll need some more time to sort that. Don't forget though that the E.G.G.M.A.N parody song is up to download from RR.
As your weekend update, the previously indicated Babylon Rogues themed additions to the Shadow Depository include Riders wallpapers, "Catch Me If You Can" in the music section and the Rogue's Sonic Channel wallpapers. Additionally you can now get Omega and Chaos' Sonic Channel backdrops (thus proving 'yes, I do have the Chaos one'); oh and I also upgraded Shadow and Rouge's to the higher 1280x1024 size. |

AAUK Presents: "(He Was The) E.G.G.M.A.N" (& More...) |
Right, more updates: The poll is definately offline until someone at Startlogic gets their thumb out of their ASCII and fixes things. Starting sometime soon the side columns on the front page will be having a shift around, with the addition of a new little section called 'Forthcoming Projects'. There is also a planned 'Babylon Rogues' themed Shadow Depository update incoming for the weekend. News Archive page now up as well before I forget.
The dreaded song is online and if you check your RSS and podcatchers you'll find it listed as the most recent addition. If you haven't subscribed, journey to the Radio Redux 'About the Show' page and you will find a shiny new tool that allows you subscribe to RR via a host of services too numerous to mention - you can even get RR on your mobile phone using the plusmo service! |

Radio Redux: Future Direction, A Parody Song & A Bit Of A Rant Frankly... |
I'm beginning to wonder if people actually read these... anyway on the basis that I'm gonna continue updating a lot over the oncoming weeks fans of Radio Redux should watch out for a) a new Radio Redux show sometime over the weekend perhaps and b) possibly tonight a new addition to the show feed geared to garner a greater iTunes position for the show. Another reason being that RR is getting smaller in length. Yeah, yeah, I know, but frankly with their minute long adverts and 'download this song' I almost think SonicCast and The Sonic Show are cheating a little - as it keeps their shows high up the chart as they have 'regular updates' and then they get, naturally, greater secondary and third-party downloads from that success. That's not knocking them, but especially when you consider there is me doing 2-3hr shows of super 50 rings stylee entertainment value. I'm bound to get a little 'hmm' about it. Hey, I like both shows - the recent Sonic Show was a great example of how great our fandom is and just what future that show has (and I'm not just saying that because of the pimping Jay gave us ). Despite the recent discoveries of my apparent popularity with the Portuguese and Kiwis, I just want tho on this occasion to get a bit more of, y'know respect for RR and a greater general interest going about my show. The need to get and keep Radio Redux in the public eye has therefore left me no alternative but to rip off the idea shamelessly. So expect new additions to the infamous RR adverts appearing every so often SEPERATE from the main shows. The new addition tho? Well it's a parody song - yes, you heard right AAUK (God help me) is singing again. It's a special version of E.G.G.M.A.N, which is more of a complaint against ol' Eggy's sidelining and general turning into of Sonic's bitch. "(He Was The) E.G.G.M.A.N" is due out tonight/tomorrow morning then. Be warned! |

Blog Update: "Bottling It" |
In an unprecidented move I've actually posted ANOTHER blog entry, this time talking about... well... hotwater bottles.
It's worth a look anyway, so check out the Barbed Wire Halo. |

Wallpapers To (Get Up) Go Go Go Go! |
Is anyone else finding those Google ads aren't working at the moment or is it just me? Hmm. Anyway regardless of that, Sonic Wrecks: "as featured on The Sonic Show"(TM), is surely the most updating Sonic site around currently. I've got another hit of wallpapers for you, with an SA2 Sonic/Shadow, a Riders Sonic 'action pose' and Sonic Channel backgrounds for Dr. Eggman, the Chao and Super Sonic. I've noticed that in an interesting quirk #038 on the Latest Comic page was a bit squashed... so that's been fixed. Not only that the Chaotix X page is now up in the Radio Redux section - there's nothing on it yet, but there'll be more stuff coming soon. More updates tomorrow most likely! |

Tuesday Maintainence Report |
Further fixes have been made post ST135 server failure, however one benefit seems to have been the upgrading of SW's memory storage facility fourfold by way of apology, which is rather nice. How I'm going to go about using this space is, frankly, something I will have to think about.
The fixes implemented include minor code edits, the SWA award images being reinstalled and renamed and the link to the Sonic Rush wallpapers being corrected. Still no news on correcting the poll mechanism at this time.
Current plans include another update to the depository as soon as I've finished downloading the ruddy neigh on 100Mb Sonic Show and in other news, Radio Redux adverts might well appear seperate from the shows in the future to be downloaded from the RR stream... more on this later. |

The Blog! The Blog! The Blog Is On Fire! |
There is a new blog post up on the ArchangelUK/Sonic Wrecks blog 'The Barbed Wire Halo' and also the promise that it will be updated more frequently. I'm now off to relax (see the blog for reasons why). |

Even More Media For Your Weekend (& More...) |
Right so I hope you all enjoyed the comic, it has only been a day and Silver has been whinging at me that he misses Blaze; so there are some Blaze-based additions to the Shadow Depository. We've now got a Sonic Rush wallpaper, a slew of Sonic 06 wallpapers and Blaze's Sonic Channel wallpaper. There are additions on the mp3 front with two new downloads for you in the shape of Julien-K's "Waking Up" from Shadow The Hedgehog and the Team Dark theme: "This Machine" from Sonic Heroes. More wallpapers come in the form of 4 new Sonic Battle user-created backdrops (the creator of the Tikal one has been revealed incidentally), speaking of Sonic Battle the font from that as well as Ninja Kid 2, Secret of Mana and Yoshi's Island game texts have also been uploaded. The comic page links have been fixed (gomen) and the Sonic The Comic #10: Story 1 "Megatox" is now up. In other news that crafty T-Bird has yet another Sonic CD up on eBay, but this time it'a copy of the Sonic 2006 vocal tracks cd Several Wills! Click here if you fancy a bid. SSMB is down until further notice on Sonic Stadium as it gets an upgrade; go over to EchoWorlds if you fancy some interesting conversation and can't find an online resource X-TREME enough for you. The News Ticker script location also got moved - thanks for the tip-off Demx and lack of tip-off Dreadknux - and had been fixed. Some minor fixes from peoples email correspondance (much appreciated incidentally) have been implemented. I'd tell you more about the Sonic & Shadow site awards... but their site has gone down. Also someone is 24 on Friday. Just saying. |

Silver Saturday: #038, New Cast Bio, Shadow Dep Update. |
The little white fellow gets his first solo outing in new comic #038: I Dream Of An Absent Lotion, so I thought the least I could do is make a bit of a big deal of it; you'll notice Silver gets his own pimped out comic frame firstly -mmmm, it's psychokinetictastic! There's a new wallpaper of Silver in the Shadow Depository, namely the recent Sonic Channel wallpaper of him but most amazingly of all I ACTUALLY got around to writing up a character bio! Yes! So Silver's "history" can now be viewed via the cast page. Do you like the sprite incidentally? You want more you say, hmm, okay how about GAME MANUALS? We've now got scans up of the US Mega Drive manuals for Sonic 1, 2, 3 as well as Sonic & Knuckles. Heh, all this attention - you love it don't you? I've also in a moment of "now why exactly did I not do it THIS way?" made some sweeping changes to the titles code and relevant CSS to replace them with DIVs. New Radio Redux on SatSR being recorded Monday with T-Bird, so send in thoughts on the game to radioredux@SW. |
