The Sonic Stadium Offline: Latest
You may have noticed TSS has gone down, well sadly they have gone D O W N as their severs have officially been fried, oh dear. Our reporter on the scene T-Bird reports that TSS empresario Dreadknux has no idea when TSS will return as a complete reset will have to occur.

This sucks eight ways from Sunday, naturally - and it's only Tuesday(!) Sonic Wrecks will keep you updated with any further news on this matter.

New Additions: Sheet Music & Blog
There is yet another blog up on MySpace from me, discussing more of my night out on the tiles and a rather odd game that was contested between myself and best uni mate Neill.

I've also added those new pieces of sheet music to the Shadow Depository, they include pieces from Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

Edit: Chris Griswold of Wikipedia just added a new addition to his profile, namely "Chris Griswold is an utter tosspot" as I just found out the Sonic Wrecks wikipedia page has been deleted as I/we are "unremarkable people" or so sayeth the quoted rule for deletion. Sad Panda.

New Blog & Future Updates.
Right, my life is about to get very hectic for a while, as I try and scrape together a possible future for myself. In any event, I shall try and get some sheet music and other miscellaneous things up on the Shadow Depository over the weekend.

There's a new personal blog up on the Barbed Wire Halo.

Quick Round-up: PS3, SEGA Competition, Long John Baldry, The Sonic Show
The PS3 is launched in Europe today - if you have a spare fortune, why not pick one up?

SEGA Europe are doing a competition where you can win some SONIC mugs and fridge magnets. Yes. Fridge magnets. All you have to do is send in a (maximun) four line poem saying how much you love Sonic. Check out the SEGA Sonic Blognik for more details.

Sonic fans who have Digital/Satelite in the UK might be interested that on BBC 4 at 9pm this evening there is a program all about Long John Baldry called "In The Shadow Of The Blues". LJB is known better to Sonic fans as the voice of Dr. Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and sadly passed away in 2005. He also, you may be interested to know, did vocal work for other game related shows, such as ReBoot as Captain Gavin Capacitor aka 'The Crimson Binome' ("BY THE CODE, lad...") and also had a hand in Captain-N: The Games Master. I recommend taking the opportunity to find out more about the life and music of this Blues legend.

Episode six of The Sonic Show goes up at 9PM tonight GMT, apparently Sonic Wrecks once again features on the infamous vidcast of Discoponies with the aftermath of SatSR's release discussed. The 'Masters of the Desert' skin is featured as a result I'm told.

'Broken' Page Issues
Seems my 'code clean-up' failed to take into consideration that the SW server doesn't like root slash on PHP included instances. Thats why people might have been seeing a skinless page and php errors. I'm in the process of fixing it all, thankfully the only edits that went up were a couple of sections within the Shadow Depository and the comic archive pages. Luckily, due to the wonderment of Dreamweaver I'm able to do multiple corrections. So these should all be done momentarily.

Anyone who finds an error can they please email the problem to the following address: fixme(AT)sonicwrecks(DOT)com.

Sweet Little Echidna-ry...
Probably the only time you'll catch me referencing the band Wet Wet Wet, the latest Sonic channel wallpaper has gone online - and it's TIKAL! Yes, the orange mayan-named echidna we at Sonic Wrecks have a soft spot for has finally garnered the Sonic Channel treatment and thus has instantly become the background of choice at SW HQ.

The red hot favourite for May seems to be Metal Sonic, however we've noticably been going along a "Sonic Adventure" theme recently, so don't be too surprised if we get a Flickies one, E-100 series one (Beta?) or maybe even a Pachacamac one.

I know Sonic Style has a 'hit list' up, but they're missing several candidates as far as I'm concerned. I certainly can think of the following possible candidates for the next wallpaper: Metal Sonic, Flickies, E-100 Series/Beta, Pachacamac, Fang The Sniper/Nack The Weasel, Void, The Commander/GUN, Bark The Polar Bear, Bean The Dynamite, Ray The Squirrel, Mighty The Armadillo, Erazor Djinn, Sharha, Darkspine Sonic, Super Shadow, Burning Blaze, Super/Hyper Knuckles, Super/Turbo Tails, Maria Robotnik, Gerald Robotnik, Super Silver, Black Doom, Eggman Nega, Neo Metal Sonic, Puppet Tails, Metal Knuckles, Mecha Knuckles, Silver Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Omachao, Emerl, Gemerl, 'Sinbad' Knuckles, 'Ali Baba' Tails, and I could name a few more as well. You could even count a Master Emerald or Chaos Emeralds one and that'd be 36 all told, making over THREE YEARS worth of possible Sonic Channel wallpapers.

ANYWAY, you can find the Tikal one online now, as well as a host of yet more SatSR wallpapers from both English and Japanese origins.

To The Victor Go The Spoils (& Late Night News)
Right the postman has just been and I now have a vast array of crap to wade through. Such crap can only mean that as the 'winner' of the Wrecks Factor my (remaining) prizes have arrived, and what prizes they are too. Yeah.

Echo sent me some Tibetan worry-balls in a somewhat moth-eaten old box which seem to have bells in them somehow and clang terribly when you use them. Echo also sent a nintendo Yoshi toy, which chirps and whose switch nearly pulled my nail off its finger. (This hurt).

Whilst Rory has excelled himself (or should that be Excelsior-ed himself) and has sent me some kind of A5 canvas print of the ubiquitous Shatner mounted on MDF. All of which will take pride of place in a drawer somewhere.

Oh well, it's the thought that counts... and I'm obviously hated immensely. (Joke.)

Edit: As everyone's gone all 'waa waa waa' and not in the Slade "Feel The Noise" sense I've seen fit to edit the post and make it slightly clearer. I haven't laughed as hard as I did at the irony of one comment since I don't know when. But I do have some news.

Radio Redux #204 got done today with T-Bird, it being part one of his Room 101 selection. His SEGA blog entry also went up with his "SEGA Sonic Survey" video. Check it out here.

#040: Propaganda! Greasepaint Is The Word
Righto boys and girlies, the latest Sonic Wrecks comic has gone up and it a bit longer than the last few comics at eighteen frames. Enjoy.

Edit: I've also taken the liberty of simplifying some of the code in places, these additions (or rather, subtractions) will slowly filter up when the individual sections get updated. I've also made a little change to the coding of the splash page and added #040's slide.

HUGE NEWS UPDATE: More Award Nods, SW#040, Wikipedia, SD, RR, More...
Frankly, I couldn't care less about the cookie-clearing-a-thon on the S&SSA anymore, not when the cool kids at SonicSpot - the Sonic union on GameSpot - get in contact to tell me that SW has had two nods in the first annual SonicSpot Awards. Yeah, we're nominated in two categories 'Best Web Comic' and 'Best Individual Web Comic'. Now your guess is as good as mine as to which individual SW it is, but my money is on one of the Ragnarok trilogy. "YAY ENGLAND" - SonicSpot. Yay us indeed.

The next comic is well underway and it looks as though there's going to be at least two 'Propaganda' comics, with the first #040 being called "Propaganda! Greasepaint Is The Word". I'll leave you to figure out what that might entail.

Shortly there will be a whole host of new SatSR wallpapers up in the Shadow Depository; including the Japanese versions of the majority of those already have up.

People who edit the Sonic Wrecks page on Wikipedia, please do not put down rubbish, otherwise we might lose it. I've had to get a friend of mine to fix the 'addition'.

Anyone wanting to send in questions for RR (no requests please, I have plenty) for the next two shows please do so as I will be recording at least TWO Radio Reduxes next week. I cannot say as to WHY I'm having to do that at the moment, but my time is going to be curtailed somewhat over the next few weeks and I want things like SW and RR covered for updates. I should be having guests who might very well include Jay (Discoponies from The Sonic Show) or DC if I can grab hold of him for another show. So if you have questions specifically for them again send them to radioredux@ and put either DC: or JAY: or T-BIRD: (if he appears) as a prefix in the subject header. Like I said I'm covering my bases a little.

If Demx is reading this please prepare Mag 7's for AAUK solo, AAUK/Jay, AAUK/T-Bird and AAUK/DC just in case.

I might have some exciting news soon, or I may not, but whatever the case within the next few weeks some BIG things are going to happen to the Shadow Depository, then we have the launch of The Vault and some other items occuring too. Sorry I can't be more specific, but things are up in the air atm. 'RARRRGHHH! RARRRGHHH! RARRRGHHH!' to quote Lt. Eggma.

Lastly, the Sonic Wrecks Awards... yeah, not sure when they're going to happen this year as frankly I might be too busy. *Sweatdrop* I need to work a timescale out for them and also find out when TSS are doing the SSA this year so I can give a good clearance gap.

Contests and Blogs
Not much has been going on at SW HQ for the last few days, as I've been working and feeling rather off-colour. We're sending in for that SOG (I didn't even realise there WAS a SEGA Germany) competition, which you can see on the news ticker *points above the news posts* and if you don't know the answer it can probably be found in the SatSR images section in the Depository - just saying.

There's a new blog up on the Barbed Wire Halo, which speaks of frustration.

Edit: 13 new headers have gone up for the 'Masters of the Desert' rotation; these now include the final SatSR soundtrack headers, more Aladdin references and also references to Jimi Hendrix, Dido, Motorhead and even Iced Earth!

#203: Not A Production Of 1Up.Com
A solo show for March, AAUK opens with an advert about sleep-deprivartion MMORPG "World of Snorecraft"; discusses the latest news, skins, the aftermath of SatSR's release and also talks about James Bond and explosions.

Also features kick ass music from HeadHunter, NFSU2, Sonic Rush, Sonic Riders, Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, Starfox Adventures, SONIC The Hedgehog (2006) and more...

Now available on iTunes, the RR archive and from all regular subscription services.

Also: I have now listened to the entire SatSR soundtrack, and Runblebee deserves severe injury for making me do so. I shall add more headers to the Masters of the Desert skin for the other songs later today.

Edit: SEGA Europe had to evacuate yesterday after smoke started billowing into the building! See the blognik for details... personally I think it's just a rouse to stop me and T-Bird storming the place.

Oh, and I fixed the Sonic 1 background links, seems the actual STH page failed on the upload first time around. Blast 56k!

Headers & Other Stuff...
Please vote for SW through the above link, we're currently third and second in both awards respectively and you don't want that SURELY? You know, I could put the polls on SW, but what would that really achieve? Its a pity really with that, as whoever wins won't be down to effort but to whoever can be bothered to keep cleaning out their cookie files and re-voting the most. *Sigh* I hate polls like that. Does anyone even know the S&SSA are going on apart from those nominated? Does anyone know when the polls will END? Communications people!

I realised the other day that the normal headers had a gap in them and that I could reference a lot more themes. So first of all I've added those 'In His World' TSS competition entries into the rotation, as people were under the general agreement that they were funny. I've also added headers for all the songs in Sonic 3D and ones for all the (legible) lyrics in the themes of Sonic Rush.

Masters of the Desert also got another couple of headers relating to the Iron Foundry theme "The Palace That Was Found" (aka 'Whose Gonna Rock The Place') as Rundlebee seemingly is the master of pretentious nonsense.

RR #203 will be recorded tomorrow, fate permitting, and I'm going to be doing some pre-recording work later today so it you have any questions for RR you have until the end of today realistically to get them in to me via SW at radioredux@.

The Vault should make its first appearance soon, as I've already sorted out the page and am just deciding what to put up first. What The Vault is will be revealed very soon.

February's news has been archived.

Finally (at least for now) Ram The Dragon, our Uraguian fanartist fair (no she's not a circus, I was being complimentary, fools) sent me this cracking pic the other day entitled "The Bad Part of Adverts" which features poor old AAUK having succumed to the shopping bug seemingly and has bought all the products featured in the Radio Redux ads. The pic, a belated birthday gift (awwwwwwwwww) can be found on this link here. Admire it's creativity.

Good Morning Wrecksisnammmmmm!
Good morning to you, the Shadow Depository has just recieved all 6 official Sonic Rivals backgrounds and you can now download those to your little hearts content.

To re-answer a question, yes the degredated look of the Shadow head and flag on the Masters Of The Desert headers is to give it a washed out look similar to that found on the official satsr sites and promotional images.

A few little tweaks have been made to the CSS for that incidentally, as well as a fix made to the index page which (unknown to me until last night) was throwing up an elongated table if your have a widescreen laptop - or alternatively a very high numbered screen resolution.

The Best Thing EVER.
I'm not normally one for saying something is the best thing ever, but there's something new on Sonic Wrecks for you. If you go down to the disclaimer bar at the bottom of any of the main SW site pages (main.php onwards) you might just spy something different in that the SW skin changer appears to be a new colour.

Click on it and you will see there is a new entry: It's called "Masters of the Desert" and selecting that will take you to a new SatSR tribute-type world of fun. The headers removed earlier are now there, in a slightly different format naturally, as well as about 20 more. These include the traditional Sonic lyric mocks and others which also manage to reference Aladdin, Rod Stewart, Harry Potter and Sting.

Though not at the same time thankfully.

It still has a couple of issues I need to address, like the poll background, which for some reason cannot be anything besides white or a default dull white. But you get the gist... enjoy!

Hmmm.
Strangely, three of the four new headers for the front page that were put up last week have vanished from the rotation. Hmmm... curious.

Your Pre-Weekend Update: Everyone's A Winner Baby!
The Shadow Depository videos section has now been updates with all the japanese character profile adverts for Sonic Adventure. Which basically means Knuckles, E-102 Gamma, Tails and Sonic have been added.

Although not mentioned on the Forthcoming Projects presently, consider an addition to be "Masters Of The Desert".

Weekend only visitors should be aware that there is an update of some sort every day at the moment - always keep an eye on SW. You never know what we (meaning I) am up to with it.

Well I was not victorious in the TSS competition, boo hoo. For those of you who are interested, my entries (yes plural) were.

In His World, Big's Just Plain Wrong

In His World, Anthropomorphism Is A Privilage - Not A Right

In His World, Where Life Is Strong, Strangely The Application Of Water Leads To Instant Cardiovascular Failure Amongst Most Mammals

In His World, Due To The Excess Of Gold Rings Everywhere, The Streets Are Curiously Free Of Big Issue Sellers.

In His World, You Can Punch Through Steel Without Suffering Serious Injury Through Sheer Idiocy.

In His World, Oxygen Depravation At High Altitudes Results In No Harmful Effects Whatsoever.

The Air Shoe Diaries: Fan Service Vs Lip Service
Go to http://blog.sonic-city.com/blog/ and you will find my first entry as a Junior writing person for SEGA. Rather annoyingly they posted again an hour later, so its (currently) the second post on there.

Additionally, there are now four new SW front page headers (default skin) - three of which are for Seven Rings In Hand. Hey, gotta keep up to date right?

SatSR European Website Online & A Small Update... (Edited)
The European website for Sonic & The Secret Rings has gone online, after SEGA Europe finished it off. It is different to the American site and hence can be classified as 'spiffy' in comparison. If you want to visit it click here.

Speaking of SEGA, I have just sent in my first content as unofficial content writing personage. This new Air Shoe Diaries journal is a rather vigorous defence of SEGA Europe's fan service. It might very well be up soon - I will let you know when.

As for the update, I know a lot of stuff went up yesterday but I've added another video to the Shadow Depository. You can now find the Sonic Adventure 1 Amy character profile advert in the relevant section.

Edit - 11:43 GMT: You can now download the first two Sonic & The Secret Rings wallpapers from the Shadow Depository as well. As soon as I am able to download the icons (which are stubbornly refusing atm) those will be added as well.
