That’s right the demo for Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing has hit the Marketplace! The demo which allows you to play as Sonic or Banjo across a selection of tracks is available now, please be aware its a hefty chunk at 1GB but nevertheless its your first chance to grab a hold of the game and play it – unless you came to Summer of Sonic 2009 of course! It’ll definitely be your first time to see ‘someone who isn’t forgotten’ in action. Don’t worry there’ll be more opportunities to play test the game coming soon, we’ll let you know more about those when we can. But that’s not all! There’s a brand new theme on the 360 as well for you to download at 240 points and because no one EVER seems to actually show what the DLC looks like when they say its out now I’ve arranged for these images so you can see exactly what the dashboard looks like. Handy huh? Images after the break! |

As I’m sure you’re already aware NiGHTS whilst not playable in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, is acting as flagman (or flagwoman if you’re so inclined) as was discovered by eagle-eyed peeps in one of the recent lifestyle trailers. Anyway DiGi & TRiPPY at NiGHTSintoDreams.com “knew” – don’t ask me how- that s/he wasn’t in and they and NiGHTS fans worldwide became highly vocal that SEGA didn’t forget NiGHTS. As we hadn’t forgeotten the impish young boy in the red and yellow jumpsuit… er, that is I mean the purpley jester (yes, NiGHTS wears a jester’s hat Yahtzee “We’ve given NiGHTS a very important role. He starts all the races, and also finishes them too! He also resides over Time Trial, whenever you set a new lap record, you’ll have NiGHTS flying along with you celebrating! I have to admit the main reason he’s in was after we saw your heartfelt pleas, especially those of DiGi and TRiPPY, we had to make sure NiGHTS was in and played an important role. After all, we really didn’t want them to burn all their collection now. So whilst he’s not playable, he very much made it in, and as a result of the huge amount of support for the character that you all showed. Does this mean that NiGHTS may not be in future DLC? Well who can say. That’s a question I can’t answer right now – it all depends on how well the game does .” Now there’s a really nice clear pic over at NiGHTSintoDreams.com. No. Its not here. (Or on the SEGA blogs for that matter.) Why? Those guys made it happen, its their exclusive pic. You should go and see them to check it out! Last week SEGA announced Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing will (after everyone for some reason decided it wouldn’t one day) be getting Mii support on the Nintendo Wii version. So just what is the name of said car? I got on the horn to Steve Lycett to find out. In a previous post I said how it could be called something like the MiiNii – but unfortunately Nintendo guidelines prevent monkeying around with the Mii name, so anything punny like the “Avacar” we have for the 360 unfortunately went out the window – as did a direct reference. Awwwwwwww. Actually I’m told it was originally slated to the the Mii Mobile, but instead its now called the Super Zoomer. Perhaps its made by Mazda, zoom zoom zoom! |

The second Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing developer diary has gone up on the Sonic City Blognik in which SUMO Digital Producer Steve Lycett reveals more about the process of getting ASR together. This second diary charts Lycett’s, known to fans as S0L, memories when he and the team travelled to Japan to secure characters and support for the game. We even get to see the Sonic in the SEGA Japan offices again, last seen in Crush 40 Sonic birthday video. Nice photography someone! Head over to the Blognik now to read it! After a long period where people believed the Mii wasn’t coming to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (actually why DID people start believing that?) SEGA have just confirmed on the Sonic City Blognik that Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will allow you to race as your Mii on the Nintendo Wii version of the game. As with the 360 Avatars when in need of some All-Star assistance you can count on your friends to help you out. …..neeeeeeeeed anybody, I need somebody to love… I’ve actually asked S0L what the car is called, if the 360 one is called the Avacar is the Wii one also called that? I’ve suggested perhaps it should be called the MiiNii but we’ll see what he says(!) “Take on the likes of Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Ryo and Amigo, as your Mii races towards the checkered flag on tracks inspired by your favorite SEGA worlds! Winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing!” Tags: Flickr, Nintendo, S0L-vent Green Is People!, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, Sonic City Blognik, SUMO Digital, Wii |
